Company Report What happens in your scene? Outline the basic events.
We decided to produce our scene, Act VI Scene I, in a typical medieval
style with a modern twist. With limited supplies for costumes, we
decided to find a costume for the witches
that all three characters would have at home. Thus, we chose bed sheets to
act as our robes. We
had to witches act sinister with high shrill
voices because it went with the natural description of a witch. For Macbeth,
we had him
wear a black fur robe because it helped to
show his lofty status and showed wealth, which is what is usually used to
describe a king. We put a modern twist on the first
apparition because since we did not have a armored head, we had Alex wear a
lacrosse helmet, which everyone in the school
could piece together as an Òarmored head.Ó Also we described the second
apparition as a
baby popping out of a zipped jacket because
we thought the zipper would act as a depiction of a cesarean section. We had
Alex
depict the third apparition with just a stick
because we did not have any baby clothes to make him look like a young boy
but we were able to
find sticks. For the procession of eight
kings, we wanted to make it appear as though only Macbeth could see the eight
kings, but we also
included a mirror as a prop to help the
audience know that this was the vision of the eight kings with the last king
holding a mirror. Finally,
we
had Lennox(Sam) wear a mask-like prop which helped to show that he was a
messenger and legion of Macbeth. We also had Lennox talk
to Macbeth just like a vassal would to his feudal lord. |
