1. What does your character want in this scene?
The apparitions wants
to tell Macbeth about the prophecy and to warn him of what will happen in the
future.
2. What is your characterÕs motivation
for doing what he or she does?
The apparitions motivation is
to let Macbeth know what is going to happen so that he can adjust and choose
his destiny to make it what he wants.
3. What obstacles stand in his or her
way?
The obstacles that the
apparitions face is to get Macbeth to believe them that the prophecy is real,
it will come true, and it will be fulfilled.
4. What happens when your character
confronts these obstacles?
They try to scare Macbeth, but
at the same time make him believe that this is going to happen and that he
will need to be prepared when the time comes.
5. Are there any distinctive elements
in your characterÕs way of speaking? (Is his or her language elaborate,
plain, musical, or what?)
The first two apparitions are
talking in a serious manner that is really trying to get into MacbethÕs head,
and the third apparition is talking in a joking, but still ordering and
demanding way.
6. What is your character thinking during the scene? (How does he or she
react to the other characters and events?)
The apparitions are being as
persuasive as they can be to get Macbeth to believe them and that prophecy is
real.
