The Dangers of Idealism:

Othello, The Wife of Bath and Renaissance Conceptions of Love

 

How does Shakespeare question the Renaissance pursuit of the ideal?

 

Include in your essay a comparison between Shakespeare’s Othello and Chaucer’s the Wife of Bath. How do both Shakespeare and Chaucer teach us to pursue a golden mean in our relationships with women?
